Usually one of four things: the buyer's device or browser can't show it, it isn't turned on in Shopify, the cart has a pre-order item (Shopify doesn't accept Shop Pay, Apple Pay or Google Pay for pre-orders), or an active payment customization hides it. Check them in that order. ## Check these in order 1. **The device and browser.** Apple Pay shows only in Safari on a device that supports Apple Pay, with a card added to Apple Wallet ([Activating Apple Pay](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/payments/accelerated-checkouts/apple-pay)). A missing Apple Pay on a Windows laptop or in Chrome is normal. 2. **Your Shopify payment settings.** In Shopify admin go to **Settings > Payments**, click **Manage** on your card provider and check the wallet is on under **Wallets**. With Shopify Payments, at least one credit card type must be active for Apple Pay to show. 3. **A pre-order in the cart.** Shopify doesn't let customers buy pre-orders with Shop Pay, Apple Pay or Google Pay, or with local methods such as Klarna and iDEAL ([Setting up pre-orders](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/products/purchase-options/pre-orders/setup)). In SMART Preorder this applies to **Standard checkout** campaigns. Remove the pre-order item and try again to confirm. 4. **A payment customization.** In the app, open **Payment customizations** and look at the **Active** tab. Then check customizations from other apps in Shopify admin under **Settings > Payments**, **Payment customizations** ([Shopify Help Center](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/checkout-settings/checkout-customization)). 5. **Test again** in a private window after deactivating the customization you suspect. ## Payment customizations that hide wallets - **Show only specific payment method(s)** hides every method that doesn't match, wallets included. Add the wallets you want to keep to its list. - **Hide all payment methods** hides wallets too. - **Hide specific payment method(s)** with **whose name contains** and a short word can catch wallets by accident: "pay" matches Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay. Use a longer, distinctive part of the name. - A wallet hidden by any active customization stays hidden. Another customization can't bring it back. ## Express buttons on pre-order products On a product page, SMART Preorder hides **Buy it now** and the express checkout buttons while the Pre-order button shows, so a quick buy can't skip the pre-order. Other variants of the product keep them. If a campaign must accept every payment method, switch its **Checkout mode** to **Simple checkout** on the campaign's **Settings** tab. Simple checkout has no deposits and no pre-order discounts. Express buttons on your product and cart pages come from your theme and Shopify. Is something broken? Probably not. Apple Pay needs Safari on a supported Apple device with a card in Apple Wallet. Other browsers and devices don't show it. ### If I hide Shop Pay, does the Shop Pay express button go too? Yes. The app hides the wallet everywhere at checkout, express button included. ### Can I put Apple Pay first? No. Shopify doesn't let apps reorder wallets. You can move other methods, or hide a wallet.
